Fly Over

So, there I was, enjoying the mild summer evening, driving home from the library (I returned the 3 Nora Roberts books I checked out a week or so ago and picked up some more even though I said I wouldn't) with the sunroof open and some tunes on the radio, when I heard honking. I looked a round and saw nothing. Then I looked up.

There was a small flock of Canadian geese flying low overhead. At first I smiled and thought "What a beautiful ending to a nice evening." Then, I remembered my last avian encounter, and hastily closed the sunroof.

  1. Wouldn't get more library books or wouldn't get more Nora Roberts? And LOL about closing the sunroof.

  2. No more Nora Roberts. The last couple I read were so contrived. I'd be reading in bed before going to sleep saying "Seriously?" Like when the daring Alaskan bush pilot runs out into night wearing nothing but her fire engine red lacy underoos with a rifle to shoot a big bear and then turns to the arms of the town sheriff. Seriously?

So I got 3 more, because I couldn't find any of the other books I wanted to read in the stacks (I still haven't figured out the reserve system for our library, it helps when the buttons on the website line up with what they say they'll do--there's some kind of browser compatibility issue going on there), though I did pick up Then We Came to the End by Joshua Ferris. It's been on my "to read" list for a while, but reading Badger's post the other day reminded me of it.
